For the name engraving, you can select from 4 font styles.

This hanko is designed for use on official documents in Japan. 

Please note, this hanko type is not self-inking.

● Character Limits

- English Letters & Numbers: Up to 6 characters

- Japanese Hiragana/Katakana: Up to 5 characters

- Japanese Kanji: Up to 3 characters

For example, if you want to add "Nicholas," it exceeds the limit (8 characters), so it cannot be used. In this case, you can use a shorter version, such as "Nick," or choose from Japanese options.

● About Language Selection for Hanko

1. English

If you choose English, we will create your hanko with English letters exactly as written in the order form. Please ensure the spelling and capitalization are correct, as we will engrave it exactly as you enter it.

2. Japanese Hiragana

If you choose Hiragana, we will convert your name into Japanese hiragana characters. Hiragana is a phonetic script used in Japanese writing, often for native Japanese words and names. Your name will be written based on its pronunciation in hiragana.

3. Japanese Katakana

If you choose Katakana, we will convert your name into Japanese katakana characters. Katakana is mainly used for foreign words, names, and loanwords in Japanese. Your name will be written based on its pronunciation in katakana, which is the most common way to write foreign names in Japanese.

4. Japanese Kanji

If you choose Kanji, we will create your hanko using kanji characters.

We will carefully select and combine kanji that not only match the pronunciation of your name but also carry a positive meaning. The number of kanji used will depend on the syllables in your name and the available kanji readings.

Note: If you have specific kanji you would like to use, please send us an image via "Contact Seller" within 1 hour of placing your order. After this time, we will not be able to accommodate requests as production will have already begun.
